Guest Designer - Fun Sculptures with PaperClay
Here is a Garden entrance for you to enjoy....
I used Flowersoft as the grass and Fiskars leaf boarder punch for the vine.
And acrylic paint to paint it all up.
Sculpting this I used a stick to get texture in the red flower stems on this side.
Now every garden near Easter had eggs in them right?
I know that Easter is finished but look at these eggs I made out of Creative Paperclay. These are designed after the Ukraine died eggs called "Pysanky"

Painted up using Acrylic paint.
The next part of the journey into our garden is a tomb....
The stone was rolled back mysteriously a few days later.... hmmmm wonder who was in there?
This is the back view...
Every garden really needs this little fellow though..... But is Alice late?
Here I painted up the White Rabbit in acrylic paint, put flower-soft down as grass and lace at the neck/vest and sleeves. The clock is a rub-on from some random rub-on set I found in my stash.
On the largest toadstool I experimented by using masking fluid and re-inkers from Stampin Up! then decided to add glitter over the top.
Here are my secrets.... ***shh don't tell anyone!****
I love my cardstock for holding up my thin creations before they dry.....
I also texture by poking and then pulling up in a very quick motion randomly for grass.
Things that are slightly top heavy are good with card-stock below them until dry too. As long as you have a good thick trunk to hold the item up. ;)
As you see Creative paper clay is heaps of fun to play with. You can also use anything with it - I think - so far.....
I've used...
Flower-soft
Acrylic paint
Rub-ons
Re-inkers
Glitter glue
Glued on lace
I think you could use anything on the surface that you could on paper..... give it a go! I am!
Can't wait to see what the design team come up with. What about you?
All the best and happy crafting!

I am a married 57 year old woman and my life has been like many others, I have always worked outside the home until I became disabled in 2005 and couldn’t any longer. When I was not working or keeping up with children who were very involved in sports I worked on my art. I’ve done many, many different kinds of crafts and art work over the years and discovered Creative Paper Clay even before I discovered Gourds. My husband and I went to a Gourd Festival just because it sounded interesting to me and voila’ I was hooked! I now devote all my time to my artwork and working with paper clay. I’m a member of the Harrison Art League, the Ozark Arts Council, the Palette Art League, and the Hill Country Art Gallery. I am also a member of the American Gourd Society and the Show-Me Gourd Society of Missouri. I have my Gourd Art displayed and for sale in The Emporium in Norfolk, AR, The Ozark Crafts Gallery in Hardy, AR, The Brook Falls Gallery in Calico Rock, AR, The Oak Leaf Gallery in Harrison, AR, and The Hill Country Art Gallery in Mountain Home, AR. I have been so blessed to be able to teach a Gourd Art class every Saturday in Mountain Home at the Hill Country Art Gallery and will be taking over the first of May 2011, currently I’m helping the Gourd Artist who first started the classes there and whom I’ve been taking lessons from for the past year. I’m looking forward to having classes where the students can try Creative Paper Clay on their work. I also have eight art shows/competitions set up for this year in Arkansas and Missouri. Life is good and when it’s not I just “Put on my big girl panties and deal with it”.
Amanda Marks is an artist, designer, stay-at-home mom, and host of her own internet painting show. She is best known for her wildlife paintings and her “mad scientist experiments,” where she takes everyday household items and creates new easy-to-use media. On her painting show on Creative Edventures Web TV, she shows that you don’t need a big budget to paint and the most important thing is to have fun!
Amanda is also a graphic designer. Her knowledgeable background in Historic Preservation and Art Education helps her explain the complex in very simple terms. She shines when showing simple, frugal ways to craft with your whole family, with easy tutorials. When she isn’t in front of the camera or glued to her craft table, she and her husband are chasing their two children.
Amanda chronicles her and her family’s crafty adventures and misadventures at her blog Who Are You Calling Crafty?
I am a self-taught artist living in the mid-west. I have been doing and selling art and
crafts for decades. I paint, sketch, sculpt, do fiber arts and just about any type of
craft out there. For the past decade or more, my chosen medium has been polymer
clay. I sell figurines, jewelry and other items made from it. That might change,
though, since I have recently discovered how easy Creative Paperclay is to work
with. I am a true Halloween fanatic, and can't wait to create loads of whimsical
figures for my Fall sales as well as try some jewelry-making with paperclay. I am
inspired by nature and kids, holidays and animals.
I have been scrapbooking and card making for about 15 years. I am a wife to my best friend, mother of 3 (1 daughter and 2 sons) and Oma (Grandma) to 2 (granddaughter and grandson). I am very interested in many different mediums. My crafts exist of scrapbooking, card making, wedding favors, centerpieces, floral arranging, vinyl homedecor and jewelry making. I dabble in a few more crafty things, but too many to name. I am addicted to using my Cricut and cuddlebug, although sometimes it seems I am playing more than creating.
Hello! My name is Marissa Fratoni. I am from the still freezing cold state of Massachusetts. They told me it’s Spring, but I am having a hard time believing them, whoever they are! I wear many hats in my delightful little life. I am a massage therapist, soon-to-be registered nurse, writer, doula-in-training, avid yoga practitioner, and mixed-media artist. My mixed-media artist hat provides for the most fun! I sculpt, sew, paint, doodle, sketch, make paper in blenders, dabble in jewelry-making, and try to find as many uses for Creative Paperclay as humanly possible. And then I typically use all of these mediums to create art dolls, ornaments, magnets, greeting cards, figurines, hair accessories, funky jewelry boxes, cake toppers, and home decorations. My artwork helps me to make sense of my crazy life while my husband, family, and friends help me keep at least one foot firmly planted in reality. I prefer to leave the other foot dancing in the rain and mud!
It's that amazing team! Hope you check out each of their blogs and become follower of this blog and their blogs. We all love follower and comments!TTFN

Guest Designer - Fantasy Sculptures with PaperClay
I am very excited to be here and be a Guest Designer for Creative PaperClay.
My name is Debbie - My blog is at http://artycrafty.wordpress.com
I love crafting with all mediums and trying out new stuff so when I was sent some Creative Paper Clay I went right to work with it...
I first made a cute little fellow called a WhoppleColla (my own made up creature)
This little creature is helpful in your garden helping flowers and plants to grow. He has even been known to grow some weeds next to some plants that need an extra prop up for hard winds.... only for a very useful purpose of course!
I sculptured him by making balls of Creative Paperclay and then molding them together by smoothing them together.
I then rolled out his clothing and put them on him.
I let it all air dry thoroughly for a few days and started painting him up.
I must say here that Creative Paper clay is like painting on paper. But it is much better than that and the paint is very easily spread. You really don't have to prep the surface at all or work the paint hard. It is really a relaxing thing to do. I used Acrylic paint to colour him but you can also use watercolour paint for a softer look.
Once dry this little fellow is very light. Other modeling clays I use are quite heavy. This little fellow is about 2 half inches high.
Now I love the fantasy subject so I really had to do another project.....
My fantasy fairy tree.
Here I scultured the tree trunk and molded the little toadstools. I used Fiskars embossing stylus to make the texture in the trunk. I put in a bit of florist wire for the curtain rail and waited for it to dry. Took about a week. It is solid Paperclay. Stands just over 3" high.
I painted it initially with very dark acrylic brown paint and once dry I roughly painted over the lighter brown acrylic paint. I let the texture work for me doing this.
After the paint dried I punched out of paper a leaf shape and cut that in half - stuck it to the curtain rail. (Fiskars Leaf squeeze punch).
I also added some flowersoft to make the grass and the flowers in the flower box at the window.
As you see - Creative paper clay is awesome! You can mold it into any shape. Its easy to use. Light when dry and easy to paint/decorate. Mold-able paper... just love it! It is also addictive to work with.... ***but I didn't tell you that - ok!**** ;)
All the best and happy crafting!
