Hi and welcome to Creative Paperclay® Blog!
It is me Donna from Memes Art Place. Today I wanted to share with you how to alter a cover with Creative Paperclay®. Terri Sproul did a video that inspired me to try! You can see her video HERE!
So here is what you need to start-
Book
Sandpaper block
Creative Paperclay®
I started by sanding off the shiny coat that was on my cover. This gives the Creative Paperclay® a bit to grip onto.
I added a bit of glue to the cover for a little extra hold. I then started to add my Creative Paperclay® onto the cover. Super easy! Now you can stamp or add embellishments onto the Creative Paperclay. I stamped some added some embellishments. Just press all of it into the Creative Paperclay. After I made impressions of the embellishments I removed them and added some glue and returned them to the impressions that were made. This just gives it that extra hold.
Using my Deco Art Media Mister Carbon Black I spritzed my cover. Let dry.
I brushed Deco Art Media Quinacridone Gold fluild acrylic over the spritz. This is a teqnique I have learned from Andy Skinner. You can see a video HERE! I let it dry.
I then took Deco Art Media Titan Buff and added some highlights to some areas.
I love my new rusty cover!
What do you think?
Will you try it?
Till next time...........Create!
