Cake Box...

Hello Everyone, it's Robyn here today.  I'm so pleased to share a lovely, handmade cake box with you that I've made.  The box is made of sturdy card stock, but what I really would like to share is the lovely key embellishment that adorns the top.  I've made it using Creative Paperclay that I set in a mold by Articus Studio.

I painted it and then applied some Rub 'n Buff.  This is the same technique that I shared last month in my post if you'd like to refer back to the tutorial.  You can do so many things to create custom embellishments using Creative Paperclay.  The possibilities are truly endless.  I love this wonderful, non-toxic, bio-degradeable, all natural, air dry clay!

Password Journal on Lock-down

Hi Everyone, it's Robyn here today.  This month I've been busily creating these handy little password journals.  They measure 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" and fit nicely into a shirt pocket, handbag  or small desk space.  Now, you would want to use discretion with these when storing sensitive passwords depending on your circumstances but they work great for all of the groups, sites and blogs that we seem to find ourselves needing to recall log-in information for.  Great for the kiddos, too!

Here is what I came up with...

I've used an Articus Studio mold called Key to My Heart, Large to create the heart-shaped lock and key.  I added my Creative Paperclay into the mold and left it to dry overnight.  I then painted the lock and key using pink acrylic paint and then dry brushed on some vintage white acrylic paint.

 This is what the inside pages look like.  I just typed it up on my computer using Microsoft Word.

 Then used my Bind-it-all to create the book

 The label for the front were also created on my computer.  I then used a die to cut out the label.

Balloon Dog...

Have you ever been walking along and spotted someone creating animal shapes out of balloons? To me, it is so much fun to watch. After all, you start out with a latex tube that is often times full of the air we don't need anymore! Unless of course someone wants to make floating balloon animals. ;) Well, that is the inspiration for today's Creative Paperclay project.I've used Delight air dry modeling compound; which is really nice to work with...
Start off with a ball that is about 1" in diameter and break off pieces as seen below.
These will form our dog's various pieces.
Mold them into a cylinder shape. One larger and 8 smaller pieces about the size of a Tic-Tac.
I've used craft wire to stick the pieces together. I let it dry over night and then reinforced the wire with some Glossy Accents by Ranger.
Paint as desired and add some glaze for a nice shine.

Voila! There you have it. Long after the balloon is gone, you can have this little guy as a reminder or bring a smile to someone on a dreary day.

Christmas Embellishments...

Hi Everyone, it's Robyn here today. Wow, this must be a popular idea! :) Well, to preface my post, I'd like to say that if you scroll down (after reading my post of course ;-) you will find more ideas for adding that special handmade touch to your Christmas season this year. Thanks for the great post Marissart Dollmaker!

For my project today, I'd like to share some Christmas embellishments that are quick, (we love that during the busy holiday season, don't we?) fun, and great for any age group to create. I've been making sweet little ornaments that you can add to your tree or give as gifts but I've also created some without a hanger that I can add to my Christmas cards and scrapbook pages.

You will need:

Creative Paperclay

Cookie cutters (any size you'd like your Embellishments/Decorations to be)

Paints, glitter, gems or any thing you would like to add to your ornaments/embellishments

Paint Brush

Wax or parchment paper
