Photo Magnets - Creative Paperclay Style

I don't spend a lot of time with family - we don't live in the same state they do, and we just simply don't get along really!  So when we do get a chance to spend time with them - the memories we make are priceless, and deserve to be showcased!!!  My mom and sister (who live in a different state than I do) came to see those of us who live here, which is 5 of her grandchildren and me!  I wanted to make something for her this Christmas that would be unexpected - and bring back those memories of that special week spent here with all of us!  I love making magnets too, smaller one's made out of Creative Paperclay, stamps, paper flowers, molded flowers, and paint - this is the first one (not the last) made with photos, I hope you enjoy!

Supplies needed:
Creative Paperclay - flattened
White and yellow paint
Ribbon, rick rack, bakers twine
Bling
Paper flowers
Molded flowers
Magnet strip's
Chipboard saying
Scissors
Hot glue gun

**TIP - this is where I have said it really saves time to make up things ahead of time, for use later on!  When you have the inspiration, you can easily create something in relatively little time, compared to larger projects!**

Directions:
Step one:  Taking your flattened Creative Paperclay - make the bases for the magnets the size you want for the photos you are using.
Step two:  After pieces have been fully dried - sand and paint them.  I used a white paint for the bases - paint 2-3 coats.
Step three:  After the paint has completely dried - you can start to create the frames.  Cut down the photos to size, adding if you do not have any ribbon, etc to add.
Step four:  Add the ribbon, rick rack, or bakers twine you are using to wrap around the frame if you are using them.  After you are done with this - make sure to add the photo if you haven't in the last step.
Step five:  Add the bling - the flowers - the extra's to the rest of the piece finishing it off!

I can't wait to get more magnet strip's to make more magnets for my own use this time!  Sometimes it is harder for me to create something for me, rather than making it to sell or as a gift!  This project, was one from the heart for sure, I hope my mom feels the same way!  Thanks for stopping by,

Lynda's Magnets - Made From Stamps!

For those of you who love to stamp - and happen to have stamps available to you, I have the perfect fun project for you to recreate, using basic stamping supplies and Creative Paperclay and Delight products!

**Tips**
I have had a tip I always share - this time is PERFECT example as to why!!!  If you have molds you like to use - grab some product, and make up a bunch of items ahead of time!  That way, when you are working on a project - you don't have to wait for things to dry!

And - using the Delight product on your smaller items (such as the flowers and buttons) - helps so they do dry quickly if you are working on something at the moment!

Supply list -
Various stamps
Rolled out product (for the bases)
Paint
Bakers twine and ribbon
3D flowers
Molded flowers and buttons

Directions:
Step one:  Flatten out the Creative Paperclay product so you can cut out what you need and stamp the images on the product.  If you need directions for stamping on the product, check out the video I have made here!

Step two: After the images have dried fully, you will need to sand each of the pieces you are working on - to make each piece smooth.
Step three:  After you have sanded down each of the pieces, start to paint each of them!  I started with a white background on the squares.

Step four:  For the square magnets - start to paint the blue for the clouds using a template!  Let it dry, then using green paint, paint the grass as well!  Set aside to let dry!

Step five:  Paint the flower pot - after dried, make sure to add the bakers twine and a small bow.

Step six:  After everything has dried - start to put together the flowers for the flower pot - adding flowers or buttons to the middle of the flowers!  Set aside and let dry!

Step seven:  Paint the basket, and allow to dry.
Step eight:  After baskets are dried - add the flowers to them, with a bow on the handle.

Step nine:  Make sure to add the magnet pieces to the backs of each of the items created!

I had a LOT of fun creating these magnets - and they have inspired me to create even more!  I can't wait to get them done -and next up - a fun project made out of Creative Paperclay - flattened out product - an insert from Project Life and creativity!  I can't wait to share with you what I am working on NOW!!!  Thanks for stopping by,

Lynda's Creative PaperClay Magnet's

Hello everyone,

This will be my last month to post - unless I make the new design team that is!  I have learned so much since being on this team from all of the women here!  I can't wait to play this month on the rest of the projects I am working on, especially for the blog hop this next Sunday!  I hope you all come and join us - and link up your awesome projects working with this clay!
Today's project, is 2 more magnets -

Supplies used:

Creative PaperClay product
CTMH Basket stamp
CTMH Flower pot stamp
Flower and leaf mold
Paper flowers
Brads
Radiant Pearls paint
Paint brush
Xacto knife

**Tip**  When you are working with stamps and the Xacto knife, you will want to smash down any clay pieces in the creation that sticks out, but make sure to do it while your clay is wet.

Directions:
Step one:  Roll out the clay - roll at about 1/4" thick or so. Add brad to paper flower, set aside.
Step two:  Mold the flowers and leaf - 3 flowers for the flower pot - and 6 or 7
flowers for the basket, with 1-2 leaves as well.  Set aside and allow to dry either by air or by cooking.
Step three:  Stamp onto the clay base the basket and flower pot stamp.  Using the Xacto knife, cut the shape out.  Allow to dry either by air or by cooking.
Step four:  After your pieces are dry, start to paint them using the paint of your choice.  I happen to have Radiant Pearls paint - so that's what I use!  Set aside to dry.
Step five:  After your pieces are completely dried from step 4, start to add the painted clay pieces to your base - either the flower pot or the basket.  For the flower pot magnet, add flowers from step 1 to the top of clay flowers.
Step six:  Add a cardstock base to the back, and add your magnets.

This clay is simply the best to use, and I have found so many uses for it that I can create one of a kind "things" with!  I have embossed on it with clear embossing powder to make it more shiny...and left it alone to show the true colors of the paint.  I love this clay for sure!  I hope you have enjoyed the past 6 months of my posts, I know I have had more fun in sharing my projects with you here for sure!  I also have learned to pull out my basic supplies for scrapbooking such as my templates and use them too!  I can't wait to get started on my handmade Christmas ornaments I am planning for each of my 8 kids and soon to be 9 grand-kids!  All unique, made especially for THEM!
