I dont' think this is an excessive request at all, this is a standard request for a CT call for payment in product. It always looks much worse in writing that in practicality. I hope you find a great team! Drop me an email if you don't, I'd be glad to help! x

This post attracted quite a bit of attention over the weekend and early this week among some of the biggest names in the online craft community. A series of comments about whether or not companies should ask designers to work for free were made on the post itself, which were then deleted, but copied and reposted on the Craftypod blog (http://www.craftypod.com/) where more discussion ensued. I found this discussion to be interesting food for thought, and clearly many other people did, too.

I am not sure if you are aware of the popularity of the Craftypod blog, but Diane Guillard, the blog's author, is one of the most prominent craft bloggers, podcasters, and crafty businesswomen out there. People take her words very seriously.

I am writing because I feel that instead of simply erasing everyone's comments (which clearly didn't have the intended affect because they have been republished elsewhere at this point), this discussion might be an opportunity for Creative Paperclay to engage constructively with the online craft community. Do you have a statement you could make, a follow-up post about your stance? If you were to engage with us constructively, there is a lot to be gained for the reputation of your company. We are a big market. I hope you'll talk to us!

Thank you for your consideration on this matter.

Sincerely,

Abby Glassenberg

I"m not sure what went on here before, but I visited the craftyblog and wasn't impressed. Too cluttered, busy and not easily read. Now, off to get the bio and all done. :-)
